Andrea Chenier (1896) is a fiery verisimo work very loosely based on the life and writings of a French poet who was guillotined during the French Revolution. The opera excitingly depicts the excesses of the French aristocracy, the idealism of the revolutionaries in their dreams of freedom, equality, and brotherhood, and the excesses of blood lust that ended the Revolution.

Creek Men
Laurence Edward's work as a sculptor uses local materials to create powerful figures. One of his works was accepted for the 2011 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and sculptures by him are regularly on show at Messum's in Cork Street in London. Clock House Arts Association has produced a splendid book, The Creek Men, with a detailed account of the creek men, which are themselves now permanently at Heveningham Hall. Following the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday 12th June 2011 which could only be described as dramatic, chaotic in a rain-soaked and action packed Grand Prix.

On Monday 13th June, two very enthusiastic followers of Formula 1, both Barry and Bill made their way towards Woking for a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre.
On arrival and after some discussion we were offered very kindly the official, Press Release from Vodafone McLaren Mercedes for the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix.
It was such an inspiring, informative and interesting tour, after completion, we found ourselves back in the McLaren Technology Centre car park, both in awe of the fact we had both died and gone to Formula 1 heaven.
It made absolute sense that we reflected upon what could only be described as a fabulous day and we both agreed to compile some of our thoughts and experiences to share...
